Almost every uncomfortable arrival begins the same way: a party books the right passenger vehicle and underestimates the luggage. The Cargo Van is the answer we give before that happens. It travels with your vehicle and carries the excess, so that the car your guests ride in stays a car for your guests, and not a hold with seats.

The same Sprinter that carries your groups, in its panel-van form, driven by a chauffeur of the House rather than a courier. It leaves with your vehicle, arrives with it, and its chauffeur hands the luggage over at the destination. Skis, golf bags, instrument cases, film equipment, trade-show material, a season’s wardrobe: it is the vehicle that makes those journeys possible without asking your guests to travel badly.

No car stays in the fleet beyond four years. Every vehicle is replaced on a four-year cycle, this one included. A van that carries other people’s belongings is presented as carefully as the car in front of it.
Choosing well

When do you need one?

The Cargo Van is never booked on its own. It is added to a passenger vehicle, and here are the three situations in which we suggest it.

The luggage exceeds the vehicle

A family of four arriving for a season, a group of twenty with one case each, a couple returning with more than they left with. When the numbers do not work, this keeps the passenger cabin free and the arrival composed.

The equipment is not luggage

Skis and boots, golf bags, cellos and double basses, camera bodies and lighting, samples and trade-show stands. Things that need to travel flat, upright or alone.

The move is not a journey

An exhibition stand to a venue, wardrobe to a shoot, materials to a congress. The van goes to the loading dock while your guests go to the front door.

Consider another vehicle if

We would rather tell you now than on the morning itself.

What it carries

This vehicle is measured in volume rather than in seats. It takes up to fifty large suitcases, hold format, and rather more when the load is smaller in format, so we ask what you are sending before we quote.

Tell us what the load actually is, not how many cases it comes to. Six ski bags and six suitcases occupy the van very differently. A description of the load, and its dimensions where they matter, is what lets us confirm one van rather than discover on the day that you needed two.

The Cargo Van is added to a passenger vehicle. If you have not chosen that vehicle yet, see the full fleet and we will pair the two in your quotation.

Up to fifty large suitcases, and no passengers: your guests travel in the vehicle the van follows.

The van travels with your vehicle, not separately, and its chauffeur remains responsible for the load until it is handed over at the destination.

How it works on the day

Described in plain words rather than in the language of a brochure.

  • DepartureThe van leaves with your vehicle from the same point, and is loaded before your guests board.
  • ArrivalIt arrives with your vehicle, or at the service entrance when the venue requires it, and the load is handed over by hand.
  • InsuranceThe load travels under the same insurance cover as any service of the House.
  • HandlingLoading and unloading are done by the chauffeur. Your guests do not carry anything.
  • AccessHeight and width restrictions apply at some car parks and courtyards. Tell us the address and we will confirm access in advance.

Our rates for a Cargo Van

The Cargo Van is priced with the vehicle it accompanies, because the figure depends on the journey, the duration and the nature of the load. It appears as a separate line in your written quotation, agreed before your journey.

Every quotation includes the chauffeur for the whole of the service, fuel, tolls and parking, the loading and unloading of your belongings, full insurance cover on the load, and a licensed vehicle. On an airport transfer, the Cargo Van is held to the same waiting arrangement as the vehicle it accompanies: sixty minutes from the moment the aircraft lands, and fifteen minutes at every other pickup.

Rates are in euros. They are a point of departure, not a quotation: the final figure depends on the date, the hour, the exact addresses and the duration of the service. Journeys beyond the Paris ring road are charged per kilometre in addition. A written quotation is always issued, and agreed, before a booking is confirmed.

We do not offer discounts. Our rates are the same for everyone on the same service.

Before you book

Can I book the Cargo Van on its own?
It is designed to accompany a passenger vehicle, and that is how it is almost always booked. If you need a load moved in Paris without passengers, tell us what it is and where it is going and we will tell you whether we are the right House for it. We would rather say no than do it badly.
How much does the Cargo Van cost?
It is quoted with the vehicle it accompanies, because the figure depends on the journey, the duration and the nature of the load. Ask for it in your enquiry and it will appear as a separate line in your written quotation.
How much does it hold?
More than any passenger vehicle in the fleet, and the figure depends on what you are sending: six ski bags and six suitcases fill the same van very differently. Describe the load when you enquire, with dimensions where they matter, and we will confirm whether one van is enough before you book.
Does it travel with us or separately?
With you. It departs from the same point at the same moment and arrives with your vehicle, or at the service entrance where the venue requires it. Its chauffeur remains responsible for the load until it is handed over.
Who loads and unloads?
Your chauffeur. Your guests carry nothing, at either end of the journey. If a venue imposes its own handling arrangements, we follow them and tell you in advance.
Can it carry a musical instrument or camera equipment?
Yes, and it regularly does. Instrument cases, camera bodies, lighting and production equipment travel flat, upright or secured as the case requires. Tell us what is travelling and any handling instruction that comes with it, and the chauffeur is briefed before the vehicle leaves.
Can it travel outside Paris?
Yes, anywhere your passenger vehicle goes. The Cargo Van follows on the same itinerary, and the additional kilometres beyond the Paris ring road appear in the quotation alongside those of the vehicle it accompanies.
